Software Engineer IV

Overview

SCIS is seeking a “Full Stack” or “Backend” web developer with expertise in CI/CD pipeline development, DevOps/DevSecOps, cybersecurity, virtualization, containerization, and modern web system infrastructures. The preferred candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and engineering development and production environments required to host a Web based software solution. The candidate will be expected to perform various duties related to system infrastructure and administration such as setting up Virtual Machines, User accounts/privileges, and developing and maintaining these environments. These responsibilities also include the creation of environment installation procedures, developing the CI/CD pipeline, supporting builds and ensuring software is delivered/deployed (integrated) correctly, as well as developing hardware and software solutions/specifications to meet the objectives of the mission.

The Software Engineer I will develop, modify, and maintain software applications and services using best practices and standards, participate in team design and coding activities, and contribute to software requirements definition and analysis.  Participate in the full lifecycle of software development for advanced systems, including analysis, design, application and service implementation, unit to integration testing, release, deployment, installation, and maintenance of system software.  Perform integrally on a software development team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
