Position Overview


Space Coast Intelligent Solutions (SCIS) is seeking a Software Engineer IV with deep experience in DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure automation, and secure software delivery pipelines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for architecting, developing, and testing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC) solutions in secure cloud environments to enable modern, resilient, and compliant web-based systems.


This senior-level position plays a key leadership role in designing and maintaining robust CI/CD pipelines, implementing secure deployment patterns, and ensuring the end-to-end automation of development, testing, and operational environments. The candidate will also be expected to mentor junior software developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and adherence to secure coding and DevSecOps best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and test Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and Configuration-as-Code (CaC) in secure cloud environments (e.g., AWS GovCloud, Azure IL5).
  • Design and implement DevSecOps pipelines that support automated build, test, and deployment operations.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD platform stacks, integrating continuous monitoring, compliance, and security controls.
  • Implement containerized and orchestrated solutions leveraging Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Collaborate with software and cybersecurity teams to ensure cloud deployments meet DoD and NIST security requirements.
  • Develop and document environment provisioning, configuration management, and deployment procedures.
  • Provide technical input on system architecture, scalability, and modernization strategies.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth within the engineering team.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, automation, and modern software deployment methodologies.
  • Experience with GitLab, Git, and Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, containerization (Docker), and virtualization concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows environments (basic system administration).
  • Experience designing or maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines including automated testing, security scanning, and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Understanding of Oracle databases and integration with modern application stacks.
  • Must be able to obtain a Security+ certification within six months of start date.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • An additional four (4) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
